One of our members was having a problem with a post he wrote... when he would go to post the message, one of the words he wrote kept coming out as a different word - "thingy" - to be precise. He thought he was going nuts or that something had infected his computer.

I don't think I have ever mentioned that there is a list of about twenty or so words (I did not pick them or their replacements, they were built in when I started the board) that when used in a message, automatically get replaced with an alternative or a few asterisks in the middle.

Trust me, I don't expect that any of us upstanding deacons would EVER think to use such words.
;)

But if it ever happens to you, that's what is happening. Please don't try to figure out the words.

BTW, I deleted the word our member was trying to use from the censored word list as I expect it might crop up occasionally in a positive context.
