 Suggestion for retreat master
« Thread Started on Aug 28, 2007, 8:49am »

Our diocese had our annual deacon, candidate and wives retreat this past weekend. It was led by Fr. Frank Sutman, OP. He was fantastic!! He is a very entertaining and humorous speaker who also has some great messages to deliver. He gave many of us some great ideas on preaching and service. If your diocese asks for suggestions for deacon retreat leaders, I would highly recommend Fr. Frank. Information is at http://www.op-stjoseph.org/preach-sutman.html . Phone is 508-641-0378. Most of thought this was the best retreat we've had yet.

My wife Anne and I just returned from our Deacons and wives retreat for the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown. It was held at the Pope Paul VI retreat Center, Wheeling, WV.
WE had a young Benedictine from St Vincent Archabbey, Latrobe, Fr Ed Maicz. Fr Ed is 35 years old and did a very very good job.
The Church is closing out the Pauline year and Fr Ed tied in on St Paul's service to the various communities to whom he served and our own diaconal service. --- Many times in his talk I thought Fr Ed was talking directly to me --- thats how absorbed I was.
We'll get him ba ck again in a few years.

Last year we had Fr Mark Gruber, another Benedictine from Latrobe. Fr G is a Biblical Anthropologist. Very interesting to listen to.
I recommend them both
Thanks
