Actually I clicked priest does it, but this year the transitional deacon did so. My last parish, the pastor did (he also carried in the Pascal Candle), and before him the choir. But I think time is running out for me - who will do it next year? I will be practicing the next 11 months!

Missing a choice. Another deacon will sing it.

My vote was for with the cantor/choir assisting. Actually it's more like my assisting. I sang the required verses by the deacon with them singing all of the rest of the Exultet. However, I did well enough not to feel the need to move to another parish after the Vigil!

Yes, I did and why did they change it?

Missing another choice - the Priest asked me to "read" the exultet. I would have loved to have sung it! Perhaps next year!

I sang the Exultet last year and this year. This year I "made love to the candle"! I sang with my heart, not just my voice. It is a BEAUTIFUL hymn and says so much about God and His love for us.
Last year I sang acapella and this year was prepared to also. A 1/2 hour before the mass our chior director asked if she could accompany me with the piano. For pastoral reasons (and because I knew she could play the music I agreed). I prefer to sign it acapella.
I would suggest that those who have a desire and not their pastor's support, read the Roman Missal for support that the Deacon is to be of service to the priests and the church.
